About luke

My Mission is to help people get the best out of their dog. Training your dog isn’t just something you do when you first get them, it’s a continuous process for both dog and owner. I can't wait to be a part of your special journey.

I am a fully qualified member of the IMDT and abide by their code of ethics in all my training. I am fully insured and a trained first aider (both human and dog), so you can rest assured that you and your dog are in great hands. I also attend regular courses, seminars and workshops as well as keeping up to date with the latest books and research to ensure my training is always fresh and up-to-date.

For the past few years I worked for a prestigious animal rescue home managing their animal therapy programme. I recruited, assessed and guided the volunteers and their dogs to visit local care homes, hospitals or hospices to interact with the elderly and sick; and bring all the benefits a dog can offer especially at a time of loneliness, depression or stress.

My interest in becoming a dog trainer was inspired by my work. During my time managing the project, it was named as the 2015 charity partner for the National Office of Animal Health and was also a finalist at the 2016 Animal Hero Awards. My professional work has been featured on London Live, in Dogs Today, K9 Magazine, Dogs Monthly, The Dodo, Good Deed News and various local and national newspapers.

I’ve always loved animals and have had dogs my whole life. It started when I was five and my family rescued a five-year-old Golden Retriever called Alfie. We grew up together and I loved spending every waking minute with him. When I was 12, we got another Golden Retriever called Charlie, this time as a puppy. I enjoyed teaching him some basic training and seeing the full development of a dog from young to old.

We now have Indie, a working Cocker Spaniel. She came to us because she wasn’t working out with the existing dog in the family. Indie has taught me so much about training a different "high-energy" sort of dog because she is very intelligent, hard-working and always looking for something to do.
